SBDC Services

Network Services

Every business has something that makes it unique however there are several areas that every business, no matter what stage they are at in the business life cycle, can choose to focus on to create growth.

The Illinois SBDC Network utilizes business tools such as GrowthWheel™ to familiarize entrepreneurs with 20 key focus areas that impact everyone. All too often, we see areas that need work but are neglected or efforts placed in areas that do not need attention. By utilizing our no-cost confidential advising services we assist you by guiding your decision-making and prioritizing the most important areas to focus on first.

In addition to our advising services, we provide assistance with market research, access to capital, specialized exporting assistance, and referrals to our network partner to learn more about government contracting. We rely on the expertise of our professional staff, our resource partners, stakeholders, and other community organizations to ensure you have access to the resources you need to succeed.

The Illinois SBDC will work with you on your specific needs to help build your business and technical skills and knowledge. It is your responsibility to accept and implement recommendations. The Illinois SBDC will not:

  • Negotiate on your behalf, but we will prepare you for your presentation.
  • Write your business plan, but we will provide you the resources for preparing a successful plan.
  • Act as an employee of your business, but we will coach and guide you.
